Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist, Professor of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon since 2011, Assistant Professor since 2019. Holds a Doctorate in Medicine (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Lisbon, with research on neurobiomarkers and the pathophysiology of mood disorders, focusing on cardiovascular and cognitive dysfunctions. Completed a Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Toronto, a Clinical Research Fellowship at AMRIC, and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Health Sciences North, Canada. Trained in Public Health and Alternative Medicine at UFSC, Brazil, where he first engaged with psilocybin as a treatment. Certified in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy and MDMA-Assisted Therapy by MAPS and CIIS, with training in clinical use of MDMA, Ketamine, and Psilocybin. Studied post-DMT integration under Dr. Gabor Maté. Since 2022, Director of the Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Program (KAT-CC), developing protocols for resistant depression and law enforcement mental health. Holds degrees in Military Medicine and as Senior Medical Officer.
